Legal PR Chicago Presents GC's Use of Social Media
January 2012
Last year, Greentarget's presentation of their study on GC's use of social media was LPRC's most popular program. Their In-House Counsel New Media Engagement Survey, the first research project of its type in the legal field, affirmed that client-side lawyers were beginning to dip their toes into the social media pool by using new media technologies for both personal and professional reasons.
Greentarget founders Aaron Schoenherr and John Corey return to LPRC over lunch on Friday, January 27 to unveil the findings of their second annual report. This year’s study measures how perceptions and behaviors have changed over the past year while probing deeper into certain areas, including the use of Facebook for professional reasons and overall use of Wikipedia as a research tool. Join us to hear the results of this year’s data and the implications for marketing and communications professionals moving forward.

Developing Your Emotional Intelligence - Learning to Work More Effectively With All Types of People Across Your Firm
July 2011
Ever walk into a presentation at your firm feeling confident about the material you have to present, but leave feeling like your colleagues and/or lawyers did not connect with what you were offering?
Join Legal PR Chicago over lunch on Tuesday, July 19 to learn why this is – and more importantly – what you can do about it.
Research in organizational and human performance suggests that our on-the-job intellectual, technical and functional skills only take us part of the way toward our intended outcomes - our competencies in the Emotional Intelligence (EQ) arena account for the difference. Delivering superior business results depends on one’s EQ skills, including 1) self-awareness; 2) self-management; 3) other awareness, and 4) how well how well we work with others.
In this highly interactive session, Michael Colacchio will drill into emotional intelligence and how it relates to developing meaningful relationships with colleagues and our internal clients. Research suggests that 85 percent of high performers have been found to have high EQ. While some people acquire these skills through the course of their natural development, others acquire them through training and practice. Attend this session to find out how applying EQ skills will greatly impact your effectiveness in the areas of:
· Communicating with diplomacy and tact in every situation;
· More easily resolving problems with lawyers, supervisors, team members and others;
· Managing others and growing as a leader;
· Improving your results when working with people whose communication and work styles are different from yours;
· Developing more connected relationships and greater collegiality; and
· Creating high-functioning teams and more productive strategic partnerships.
About the presenter:
Michael Colacchio is a founder and principal of Clear Impact. Clear Impact has a singular focus of helping law firms grow their top-line revenue through firm and individual level coaching and training programs. Michael has been dedicated to coaching attorneys exclusively for the past eight years helping them develop necessary skills and behaviors to become top business developers within their firms. He is a certified practitioner of Daniel Goleman's "Primal Leadership" model which is based on the principles of emotional intelligence, and holds a master's in Neuro-Linguistics.
